Gong

(MANUFACTURED BY- RANA) MADE IN INDIA

Gongs are percussion instruments originating from Asia, widely used in various cultural and musical traditions. They are typically made from metal, usually bronze or brass, and are circular with a raised rim. Gongs are suspended vertically and struck with a mallet to produce a resonant, deep tone that can vary from soft and subtle to loud and thunderous, depending on their size and how they are struck.

There are several types of gongs:

1. . Flat Gongs :- These gongs have a flat surface without a raised boss (center), which gives them a more diffuse, non-pitched sound.

2.  Tam-tams (also called Symphonic Gongs)

   - Description: These are large, flat, and unpitched gongs without a raised center. They produce a wide range of overtones and are often used for dramatic sound effects.

3. Burmese Gong Circles

   - Description: This is a set of bossed gongs arranged in a circular formation, each tuned to different pitches.

 4. Wind Gongs

   - Description: These gongs have a flat surface like tam-tams but are typically thinner, producing a more shimmering and sustained sound.

Each type of gong has a distinct sound and cultural role, whether it's for ceremonial purposes, meditative use, or musical expression.
